In an unprecedented undertaking, acclaimed director Oliver Stone (2007 AFF Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Recipient) is bringing the life of our 43rd President to the big screen as only he can. W. takes viewers through Bush’s eventful life -- his struggles and triumphs, how he found both his wife and his faith, and of course the critical days leading up to his decision to invade Iraq. Oliver Stone, last year’s recipient of the Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award, returns to the AFF to present his new film, one of the most anticipated of the fall season. James Cromwell, who has won raves for his portrayal of the elder Bush, will be in attendance.

Wendy Carroll is driving to Ketchikan, Alaska, in hopes of a summer of lucrative work at the Northwestern Fish cannery, and the start of a new life with her dog, Lucy. When her car breaks down in Oregon, however, the thin fabric of her financial situation comes apart, and she confronts a series of increasingly dire economic decisions, with far-ranging repercussions for herself and Lucy.
