Love & Tambourines is a feature length documentary-ish film about a girl who loves tambourines. When approaching a topic one must look with objective eyes. We must pull back and look at things from all perspectives. Our film attempts this feat in the form of a postmodern essay on the topics of love and tambourines. It explores these topics and their overlap through man on the street interviews, live music performances and the story of two single friends spending Valentine’s Day together.

Not sure what all these negative reviews had major issues with...."too much drug use and cursing." Really? Despite a seemingly simple topic, what follows on screen is a very charming and soul enriching little documentary from Austin TX. If you hadn't figured it out, the story/fictional side of the film follows two platonic friends on the day of valentines, as they decide that rather than sulk about past romantic involvement that they should do whatever they want to do. Mixed in are real interviews/conversations with a handful of people and couples about the two subjects: Love and Tambourines. Bouncing between hilarious, poignant, and even a bit abstract the film roasts in these ideas to create something that comments on life in a very honest way. Some would call this "meandering" I say "delicious." There is a subplot about the 'tangerine-tambourine theory', which feels a bit out of sync with the rest of the film, but is such a wacky idea that it at least holds interest.
