This epic tale is set near the end of the Qing Dynasty in19th century China, a time of war and political upheaval. Following a bloody battle against the revolutionary troops that claimed the lives of his men, General Pang Qingyun of the Qing army begins a long and harrowing journey home. Along the way he befriends a pair of outlaws, and the three become blood brothers who fight against the revolutionaries. After many impressive victories, ego and dreams of glory override their loyalty to each other, and their brotherhood is threatened.
